Touch FaucetsTouch faucets are fantastic and are quickly growing in popularity. These hands-free kitchen faucets turn on and off with just a light touch of a hand or arm. These faucets are becoming a favorite in "aging in place" kitchens or with the disabled. These are wonderful additions to any food prep sink because they are so easy to turn on with dough or flour covered hands. They are also useful for a potting bench sink.
When it comes to leaving the water running, just imagine how much easier it is for the children to turn the water off with just a touch than operating the handle to the off position. It is also a good deal of fun to turn the faucet off by touching it. So it's no wonder that the touch sensitive faucets are left running much less frequently. Fear 4. Pets can activate a touch sensitive faucet. If a cat touches your touch sensitive faucet, it will, most likely, be too long a contact for the faucet to turn on. A canary landing on the faucet won't activate it either. Well, how likely is a situation when your kitten would be sitting there and touching the faucet with its paw?
2. You need a plumber to install a kitchen faucet. If you have never held a wrench in your hand, you probably do need a plumber to help you with the installation. But if you know how to connect an end of a pipe to the supply, you can do all the things on your own. Every faucet that is worth your attention will come with detailed instructions. But the process is highly intuitive, too. Basically, the lower part of the faucet comes through the installation hole on your sink or counter-top, hot and cold water pipes connected and the faucet fastened with nuts from beneath.
Pullout and Pull-Down FaucetsPullout faucets have a spray head that pulls out towards you, whereas a pull-down faucet has a spray head that pulls down toward the bottom of the sink. Both options help you clean the sink and wash produce or water plants. The pull-outs are the fastest growing in popularity of any faucet in the industry with good reason, they are the perfect combination of style and function. A button or toggle control makes it easy to go from aerated stream to spray. Look for one that swivels 360 degrees for easy access to all areas of your sink.
