Kirsti got ready for her wedding at the magnificent Il Salviatino hotel nestled into the hillside with a view over Florence. She chose a gorgeous 1940′s inspired dress from The Vintage Wedding Dress Company which she looked so glamorous in.

Everything that Kirsti chose just oozed elegant chic, including her beautiful Harriet Wilde shoes.

The village church, surrounded by typically Tuscan olive and cypress trees, was the location for the wedding ceremony. Decorated with blue hydrangeas, which were as elegant as Kirsti herself.

Dad just couldn’t hide how proud he was to be giving his daughter away.

A huge thank you has to go to Eva from Chic Weddings in Italy who beautifully planned and co-ordinated the whole day so that no detail was overlooked and everything ran smoothly. It was such a pleasure to work with her and she was a voice of calm throughout the day.

With a view overlooking the valley, we could see rain approaching in the distance, so decided to do the portraits in the walled garden first, while it was still dry. Good job we did, as the dry weather didn’t last long. Oh, and didn’t I say that Kirsti looked amazingly glamorous? And Richard looked really great too. Just love that double breasted waistcoast.

The dining room was beautifully decorated continuing the blue theme, and surrounded by huge wall tapestries and a giant stone fireplace. It was a venue that really made you say “Wow!”

They chose a traditional Italian wedding cake, made with many layers of pastry and chantilly cream filling, which was actually created in front of everyone’s eyes as the speeches were taking place. How totally delicious does that look? And judging by the number of people going back for a second helping, it really must have been as good as it looks.

There was a fantastic view from the patio overlooking the rooftops of Florence. After the meal, the rain eased off enough for us to quickly head out for some night time photographs with the city lights behind the couple.

And then back into the wagon room for the first dance.

And more dancing…. you just couldn’t keep people off the dance floor!

It’s funny how sometimes a wedding can totally take you by surprise and become one of your favourites of the year. That happened with Belinda and Matt’s wedding. They didn’t get married at the flashiest venue or have the biggest party, but they just had a very small celebration that was intimate and friendly with their closest family and friends. They are one of the loveliest and most genuine couples I have ever had the privilege to photograph and really deserve a lifetime of happiness with each other (and their beautiful daughter who was flower girl on the day). And what’s even better is that the couple live, got married and had their reception all within about 3 miles from my house!

Belinda’s hair and make-up was by the very talented Leigh at Curls, Swirls and Beautiful Girls.

The beautiful bouquets were created by Forget Me Nots in Hoddesdon.

Who can resist a gorgeous pair of shoes. Especially ones as eye catching as Mrs B’s Dior silver sandals.

Mrs B looked radiant in her Pronuptia wedding (2 piece) gown, it really was a perfect choice for her.

And her bridesmaids in their “Tiffany” blue Traffic People dresses and silver accessories all laughing and enjoying the morning while drinking Louis Roederer Cristal champagne.

The girls all got ready at Brocket Hall, where the reception was also held, before heading to All Saints Pastoral Centre in London Colney for the wedding ceremony.

I just love the image below of Mrs B swishing. Those Dior shoes were meant to be shown off!

The boys weren’t left out either, looking dashing in their Tux’n'Tails tuxedos and cravats which were hand-sewn by a family friend.

Nilusha and Andrew managed to have two weddings in one day! Firstly, a beautifully moving ceremony at the Windsor Methodist Church, followed by a wonderfully vibrant and colourful Sri Lankan celebration at Beaumont House in Windsor. When the dancing started, I was struggling to hold back the tears (I know, I’m mad). What an amazing evening! With everyone just getting up and throwing their heart and soul onto the dancefloor! I’ve always fancied myself as a bit of a dancer, but now I really want to find a class of Bollywood style dancing to go to.

Andre Foster and his team at FS Media Solutions are also the friendliest videographers in the world, and I can totally recommend them for your wedding.

Not to be outdone by the “pulling an air display” trick, Jo allowed her creative juices to flow and not only did she design and make all the stationery herself, but also the bunting, the table runners and the bridesmaids’ jewellery and hair clips! What a talented and well-connected couple!

So their wedding was always going to be amazing. From the moment I first met them (which I think must be at least 2 years ago – Jo is very efficient too!) I could tell it was going to be fun. And it really was. Not only were the family photos some of the most crazy I have ever taken, but the bridesmaids had all brought fun pink sunglasses with them to add a bit of attitude!

The couple’s two dogs weren’t forgotten on the day either, and joined in the celebration in the village church (they were extremely well behaved!) where Mark’s brother also played the piano and his sister played the saxophone while the register was being signed.

I could go on all day about how amazingly beautiful everyone looked and how gorgeous their wedding was. But Poppy and Mark are also really lovely people and made me feel like their friends as well as their wedding photographer. Their day was filled with so much laughter and love, it was a real joy to be a part of it.

Poppy and Mark had so many amazing details at their wedding, I found it really difficult to cut down the number of images to show, so be prepared for a bumper post!

I knew that My and Marcus’ wedding would be amazing as soon as they described it as a “rock and roll wedding” to me! Complete with a vintage American car, skull jewellery, a stone amphitheatre and a Swedish castle. Oh, and a VERY hot day! I loved so much about their wedding, I just had to include loads of images in this blog post.

My and Marcus – I hope you love these images. You are an amazing and beautiful couple, and it was such an honour being asked to fly to Sweden to share your day with you. And I hope that no-one was too traumatised by me speaking “Swenglish” to everyone!

Wedding planning by Mingla Event.

My’s grandfather is a big classic car fan and collector, so when choosing the car for their wedding, it was obviously going to be one of his. The only difficulty would be which one? But in the end it proved an easy decision, as My’s favourite had always been this pale blue American Roadmeister 75.

The church at Barsebäck was so light, bright and airy. A real wedding photographers dream.

My had been worried about it raining on their big day, especially as thunder storms were predicted. But it actually turned out to be the hottest day for about 20 years. It was sweltering!

The colour scheme was chosen because purple is Marcus’ favourite colour. I do love rich and vibrant colours, and it really worked so well with the bright sunshine on the day.

My and Marcus are such a beautiful couple, and totally in love. You could just see it in everything they did.

My had found this castle near to their reception venue during the week before their wedding, so when they asked if we could head over there for some photographs, I jumped at the chance.

My has a bit of a thing for skulls. She adores them. And it was so nice to see her bringing her personality out in her wedding details by wearing this gorgeous skull bracelet from Rock By Sweden.

Their wedding reception was in a marquee which was filled with chandeliers and candelabras. It looked amazing.

How gorgeous are they… really, they look like they have no cares in the world.

At midnight, everyone set off Chinese lanterns. the lit the sky beautifully in the midnight heat – it was still over 20 degrees!
