Not a great combination for a girl who is trying to grow out her fringe and is quite particular about having every piece of it held back in her clip! The temperature may have been below freezing in Malmö, Sweden, but they were very enthusiastic when I suggested doing a shoot in the snow with a Valentine’s theme. I love so many of the images from this shoot that it was really difficult just choosing a few of my favourites, so I’ve included more than I usually do on this post. Enjoy!

We had such a great time so we left the paper hearts hanging in the tree so other couples walking past would find and could create their own little moment. Or to bring a smile to the face of dreamers.

Linda and Gary are a fantastic couple, and it’s so obvious that they are very much in love. ♥ Happy Valentine’s Day! ♥

The purpose of the shoot was to push my boundaries and improve my technical knowledge when lighting people both with natural light and using flash creatively. Constant improvement is something that I believe very strongly about, as I never want to stand still and become stale as a photographer. This not only ensures that my clients are happy by keeping my images and products fresh and exciting, but also it’s a lot of fun being able to experiment! Dedicated training days and model shoots give you the chance to do things that you simply wouldn’t have the time to try out for the first time during a wedding when time is limited, and allows you to learn and get inspiration from other professional photographers.

But in a bid to simplify things for myself, and also to offer a greater range of services to my clients (who often don’t know that I do other types of photography) I have decided to bring the two areas of my business closer together and this blog is the start of that. I now have a new brand and a whole new website is also currently being designed and built and should be live over the next few weeks…

For those of you who used to follow my landscape photography (almost) monthly journal, fear not, I have included them here so they are not lost. I shall continue to add stories and photographs from my landscape photography trips and commissions, but I shall also now be adding previews and tasters from lifestyle photography sessions and weddings that I shoot.

To start to even up the bias between landscapes and social photography on this blog, I have decided to go through my past shoots and include some of my favourite images from lifestyle sesions and weddings that I have done over the last year or so. I hope that you enjoy them!
